Why We Need To Normalize Mental Health Breaks

The other day when I was watching Masterchef Australia, a contestant broke down and said she needed a minute. She stepped away, composed herself, and came back. It was a small moment, but it struck me how rarely we give ourselves permission to do the same.

We live in a culture that glorifies productivity. Rest is treated as something to be earned, not something we inherently deserve. But mental health breaks are not indulgent. They are essential. Stepping away is not giving up. It is coming back stronger.
